Hello, this is Alyssa Unfiltered...being truly unfiltered.

I'm not okay, and I've come to terms with the fact that it's okay.

You see, I claim to be unfiltered...but my claim is a lie.

Because my whole life, I've worn a mask-

Terrified someone would ask-

If I'm okay...

Hello, this is a teenager...hating her age.

I'm not yet an adult, but I'm not quite a child.

You see, I claim to want to grow up...but my claim is a lie.

Because my whole life I've wanted to be grown-

But now I hate that I feel alone-

But I'm okay.

Hello, this is the eldest daughter...trying to make everyone happy.

I'm not proud of myself, because they're not proud.

You see, I claim to have it all together...but my claim is a lie.

Because my whole life, I've wanted to please-

But now I don't like being me-

But that's okay.  

Hello, this is somebody's ex...trying to move on.

I haven't let go, because I can't figure out how to let go but not give up.

You see, I've claimed to have healed...but my claim is a lie.

Because my whole life, I wanted to be loved-

But now emotions are all shoved-

Because I'm not okay.

And maybe that's okay.

                                      Broken is Beautiful

                                                        Chaotic is Charming

                                                                         Messy is Marvelous

Okay is Overrated
